Festival Newspapers
Stet Press
are a group of journalists, editors and graphic designers experienced in
producing daily newspapers for arts festivals,
with the added benefit of arranging educational work experience for local
students to join us and gain practical knowledge of a journalistic
environment. We are available to work on site at festivals ensuring no
event is left uncovered and all news and information is as up to date as
the moment it happens.
Stet Press was initially formed in 1999 to produce
Literally Speaking for Cheltenham
Festival of Literature. We have since gone on to produce Locator, the newspaper
for Gloucester's Locations Festival and
Litmus Paper for Cheltenham Festival of Science.

Proposal
-
We can produce a daily newspaper, featuring news,
reviews, interviews and previews throughout the festival.
Its
up-to-the-minute, upbeat style ensures it will be a desirable and popular
addition to the programme.
- We can also produce a
preview edition for pre-festival publication, or
for the first day of the festival.
- We recognise the importance of a newspaper as an educational
resource and subsequently propose to liaise with schools and colleges in
your local area to provide an opportunity for them to experience the
journalistic, editorial and design work required to produce a high-quality
daily publication.
- We can organise a list of students interested in writing for the
newspaper and allocate events to each individual prior to the festival,
guaranteeing all
necessary readings are covered. Further to this, we propose that selected
students have the opportunity of in-depth work experience with us, covering all
aspects of writing, editing and design.
- We will supply all the hardware/software necessary to produce the newspaper on site and supervise the distribution of each issue with the
help of volunteers. We suggest the newspaper is photo-copied to reduce
printing costs.
- If required, we can create a daily PDF document of each issue suitable
for downloading to your website,
allowing those unable to attend the
festival to remain informed.
- The standard template and name of the newspaper will be produced by us
in collaboration with the festival.
